The unlock passcode stops accidental changes to the AAC grid. When it is on, you must enter the passcode before you can customize tiles or change grid settings.
Overview
- Require Passcode to Customize asks for a passcode before customize mode.
- The passcode is saved on the communicator's account and syncs across devices.
- Unlock still works offline after settings have loaded at least once.
Set a passcode
- Open Settings.
- Open Display & Navigation under AAC.
- Find Edit protection.
- Under Edit protection passcode, enter a New passcode and Confirm passcode. Use at least 4 characters.
- Tap Save and turn on. Require Passcode to Customize turns on automatically.
Change the passcode
- Open Settings and enter the current passcode if asked.
- Open Display & Navigation, then Edit protection.
- Enter a New passcode and Confirm passcode.
- Tap Save passcode.
Turn the passcode off
- Open Settings and enter the current passcode if asked.
- Turn off Require Passcode to Customize to keep the saved passcode but stop asking for it.
- Or tap Remove passcode to delete it. That also turns the requirement off.
Tips
- Share the passcode with anyone who needs to edit this communicator's grid.
- On iPad, you can also use Guided Access to keep the app in the foreground. See Apple's Guided Access guide.
- If you forget the passcode, email support@flexspeak.com.
