Picture-based AAC may support comprehension of written text and improves the efficiency of finding pre-stored messages through visual association. Flexspeak provides multiple ways to personalize vocabulary with meaningful images via:
- Symbol library
- GIF library
- In-app image search
- Your device photo library
- Your device camera
This feature currently requires internet connection.
Add a symbol, photo, or GIF from the in-app image search
- Navigate to the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap the Edit icon
to enter Edit Mode.
- Tap the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap Add an image.
- Type any additional search terms in the text box.
- Select the tabs to view Symbols, Photos, or GIFs.
- Select the image you want to use.
- Tap Save.
Upload an image from your device’s photo library
- Navigate to the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap the Edit icon to enter Edit Mode.
- Tap the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap Add an image.
- Tap Upload image.
- If prompted to access Photos, tap Allow.
- Select a photo from your device photo library.
- Tap Use.
- Tap Save.
Take a photo from your device’s camera
- Navigate to the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap the Edit icon to enter Edit Mode.
- Tap the word or folder you want to add an image to.
- Tap Add an image.
- Tap Take Photo.
- If prompted to access Camera, tap Allow.
- Take photo.
- Tap Use Photo.
- Tap Save.
