Turn on tracking for a Studio activity so answers and activity from Play are saved. You can review progress, scores, and where someone left off. Students do not press a submit button. Answers save as they go.
Overview
- Turn on tracking from Share on the visual.
- Share the Play link so students can open the activity.
- Responses lists every visual you are tracking.
- Open a session to see answers, activity, and (when they used Reset) each attempt.
- Export as pdf downloads a report for that session.
- Turning tracking off pauses new saves. Past responses stay.
Who can use it
Professional Studio accounts see Responses in the sidebar. The Track responses switch appears for the owner of a supporting activity.
Which visuals can be tracked
The Share switch appears on:
- Wh- Questions
- Count & Choose
- Build the Equation
- Fill-in-the-Blank
- Life Cycle
- Flashcards (Match saves answers. Study saves activity.)
Other templates do not show Track responses.
On Flashcards Study (and other activity-only modes) the switch label is Track activity.
Turn on tracking
- Open the visual in Studio.
- Click Share.
- Find Track responses (or Track activity) and turn the switch on.
- A Live badge appears when tracking is on.
- Click View responses anytime to open that visual’s response list.
To pause, turn the switch off. Past responses stay. New ones stop until you turn it back on.
Share the Play link
- In Share, set link access so students can open Play (typically Anyone with the link for a class).
- Copy the link and send it.
If no one has played yet, the Responses page says No responses yet and asks you to share the play link.
See Share Studio visuals for invite vs anyone-with-the-link access.
What students see
- They open the Play link.
- If they are not signed in, they see Who's playing?
- They enter a First name and click Continue.
- They play. Answers and activity save as they go.
- If they return on the same browser, they may see Continuing as their name. They can Continue or Not you? Start as someone else.
Signed-in students use their Flexspeak name. The list shows Anonymous only if no name was saved.
Review responses
- Open Responses in the Studio sidebar, or click View responses in Share.
- Pick a visual, then pick a student session.
- Review answers, progress (for example 3/5 answered or explored), and activity. If the student used Reset, attempts appear separately.
- Click Export as pdf to download that session’s report.
The first time you open Responses, a welcome explains that answers autosave.
Tips
- Tracking is on the shared Play link, not only from the editor.
- Pause tracking if you do not want new saves. Existing sessions stay on the Responses page.
- This is not the AAC Progress Tracking Dashboard Guide dashboard (words and sessions on the AAC grid).
