Flexspeak for Schools is the organization layer on top of Flexspeak AAC. Staff invite students, edit grids remotely, and use school-wide tools from a professional account.
This page is a hub. Use the articles below for step-by-step help.
Looking for visual supports such as schedules, stories, and boards to print or play? See the Flexspeak Studio Guide. Studio is a different product from the AAC talker.
Before you start
- You need a school or organization account. If you do not have one yet, email teams@flexspeak.com.
- New to the AAC app itself? Start with Getting Started Steps.
What schools can do
- Manage Users — Invite AAC users, see your caseload, and open a student's grid from your account.
- Remote editing — Change a student's vocabulary and settings without sitting at their device. See Access or edit another user's vocabulary remotely.
- Questionnaire — Send a family questionnaire and generate custom vocabulary from the responses.
- Progress Tracking — Review communication activity for AAC users you can access.
- Device rollout — Install Flexspeak AAC with MDM when the school covers access through organization seats. See Deploy Flexspeak AAC with MDM.
- Funding and licenses — See School funding routes and Redeem your professional license.
Studio for schools is separate from the AAC talker:
- School library — Share visuals inside your organization.
- GoTalk overlays — Build printables that match Attainment GoTalk devices.
Those are different Studio features. They are not the same as Community templates.
Common questions
How do I see remaining seats?
Open the Admin Dashboard on web. Organization admins can see seat and license details there.
Can more than one professional work with the same student?
Yes. Invite colleagues as professionals in the organization, or add them as a collaborator on that AAC user. See Manage Users and Add a collaborator.
How do I hide words so a student stays on one page?
Use Hide on the grid. See Hide words or folders. To lock the whole iPad to Flexspeak, use Apple Guided Access.
How do I stop accidental edits on a student's device?
Turn on edit protection. See Setting Up an Unlock Passcode.
